2121: Founders of the Future – Foundations (a short film)

The Ian & Clare Mattioli Charitable Trust is proud to continue its support the University of Leicester as they embark on the ambitious 2121: Founders of the Future campaign, helping to create opportunities for students, drive world-changing research and shape the future of Leicester for generations to come.

The campaign is the University’s most ambitious fundraising initiative to date, focused on supporting people, planet, health and culture through education, research and community impact.

Since launching, the campaign has already raised more than £33 million through gifts and pledges, supporting scholarships, groundbreaking medical research, student opportunity programmes and community initiatives. The campaign has also helped fund life-changing scholarships and awards for students who may otherwise face barriers to higher education.

Projects highlighted within the campaign include pioneering research into healthcare innovation, support for talented students from underrepresented backgrounds, and investment into future-focused teaching and learning environments.

The Trust believes strongly in the power of education to transform lives and communities. Supporting institutions like the University of Leicester aligns closely with our commitment to creating long-term social impact, increasing opportunity and helping future generations thrive.

We are proud to play a small part in helping shape Leicester’s future through philanthropy, partnership and investment in people.
