We are delighted to be supporting the wonderful new IntoUniversity centre in Beaumont Leys, Leicester which was opened on 21st March.
The centre is a collaborative partnership between IntoUniversity, University of Leicester and Demontfort University.
Around 40.6% of children in Leicester are living in poverty who without support like this may not have had the opportunity to realise their dream of going onto University.
The centre caters for school pupils aged seven to 18 who live in deprived areas of Leicester providing access to after-school academic support, mentoring with university students and professionals, in-school aspiration-raising workshops and enrichment and work experience opportunities. The aim is to provide dedicated, long term support that can break the cycles of disadvantage.
We are proud to be collaborating with IntoUniversity to help break the endless vicious cycle, where the disadvantages of one generation are passed onto the next, which has become even tougher since the pandemic.
IntoUniversity was established in 2022, and now operates over 40 learning centres in the UK supporting thousands of young people achieve their educational aspirations. Thousands of young people have gone onto university, further education, employment or work-based training.
We cannot wait to see the impact the centre in Leicester will have on our local community!
Grants and donations are vital to keep the centres running and giving children and young people a chance to realise their potential.
